29-Day Giving Challenge

Day 3: Gift of Compliment - while on the Big Bus Tour in San Francisco, two young girls sat across from my friend and I. The one girl had a sleeve tattoo. Now, I like tattoos, if they are nicely done pieces of art. And this one was indeed. So, I made it a point to get her attention from the guided audio headset, and tell her how nice her tattoo was and how well done it was.She seemed surprised that I would be the type to appreciate her tattoo, but she thanked me.

Day 4:  Gift to myself - Tolerance

Today was not a good travel day for me. While out shopping around, I was yelled at, saw a fight in a store, another on the streets (different neighborhood) and just seemed to keep encountering negativity.  So, I said my gift today would be tolerance of myself. I didn't want to let these people ruin my day. I cannot help if others are mad, etc. So, each time something happened today that upset me, I took a deep breath and said, "I have no idea what is going on with this person and they may be having issues of their own. So, I will be tolerant of what I do not understand or know and go on with my business."  It really kept me from becoming negative myself. By the end of the day, things were much better and I had a fantastic evening with my friend.
