Days 4 & 5 (X15): Sometimes I think I missed my calling and should have been an interior decorator. I have a knack for putting a room together--especially on a budget. I put this gift to use over the weekend and helped my friend George furnish his new apartment. We made stops at two stores and got everything he needed, right down to the curtains. I think the only things left on the list are to get a few throw pillows, a desk and a butcher block for his kitchen. We picked all of those things out so he just has to go pick them up the next time he has some cash on hand.
Day 6 (X15): My friend Stephanie, a friend of hers who I've never met and I went for a walk together to get a little exercise. Her friend is out of work so after we walked the dogs, I bought us all a little dinner. We had a good time sitting around chatting at steph's house and watching television. It was a nice chill day. There was also the bonus gift that my dog, Charlie, got a good walk in for the day as well.
Day 7 (X16): I took a fellow 29Gifter who is facing some challenges in her business out for lunch. I got to be present for her while she cried a bit and vented about her situation. I'm hosting a little brainstorming session on Saturday here at my place where a group of women entrepreneurs who are all close to her are going to get together to help come up with solutions to her problem.
Day 8 (X15): I'm taking a look at a book proposal that my good friend Kate is putting together and will give her some suggestions for how to complete it.
It's been a great five days of giving and it feels good to be back to blogging and being more present on the site. I'm taking the next couple of months mostly off from work except for showing up here for about 30 minutes each day. I need some downtime before the press starts for the book launch.
