29-Day Giving Challenge

Wow, the days are going fast! It is nice that my birthday will fall in the middle of my 29 days so I want to include the giving challenge into my birthday celebration.

Day 7 Today I gave to myself. I was not feeling well so I scheduled a massage with a friend who is a massage therapist and happened to be able to fit me in. It felt great and it was good to catch up with her. It had been a long time.
Day 8 Gave my son the afternoon off from camp to go see my daughter (10) in her performance at her camp. Afterwards I took him to a coffee shop where he had a huge chocolate chip cookie (I don't usually let him do this!) and then we went to the Peabody Museum, a science museum, in New Haven, then to a knitting store (he loved it and did not want to leave, he loved looking at the yarns) and then picked up my daughter.
Day 9 Time with my husband. We so rarely have time to talk without the kids but they both had play-dates so we went to look at pianos but mostly it was great just to talk.
Day 10 On duty with the kids so my husband could rest on this Sunday and then he took over so I could rest.
Day 11 Gave some kids clothing to a friend that my kids can't use any more.
Day 12 Donated more clothes to Goodwill. This was a gift to me too because it meant I could clean out my kid's closets and my closet.
Day 13 Rest day, still sick. Today I have a fever. I have to shuttle the kids around but I am staying in bed and resting. Trying to really sleep and not just spend the whole time on the computer.

Doing this so far has made me aware of how much potential there is for giving just within my family. I have not yet moved much beyond that. That is OK though for now.
