29-Day Giving Challenge

Personal Update + Gifting OUTSIDE the BOX in December + More

I enjoyed coming back to the basics of giving mindfully in October and November. Most of my gifts were close to home since I was recovering from a major MS Exacerbation. My gifts have been simple things. I spent extra time playing outside with Ani (our Siberian Husky), took Ani and Charlie on walks. (Charlie is my tiny 4.5 pound pup who hates the cold as much as I do. He usually ends up bundled inside my coat.) I made a boatload of yummy soup and delivered it to neighbors, which helped me meet some new Denver friends. I donated to some breast cancer causes and wore my Elysia Skye "Laugh At Cancer" T-shirt (pic below) a few times in the spirit of our October Breast Cancer Awareness theme.

Our NOVEMBER GIVING THEME: ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE has also been fun for me. I focused on three things I was grateful for each day because when I focus on my blessings, they expand. My list for today is:

  1. I am grateful to be recovering from my MS Flare. I can read again and am walking almost normal. I am working with a physical therapist and received my first infusion of a new MS drug and tolerated it well. I am praying the medicine puts me into remission. I will get an infusion each month for at least 18 months.
  2. Kevin is an awesome husband and I am so happy I decided to propose to him and get married Sept 20. He is a union carpenter and was recently laid off a project, so he has been able to stay around the house and help me a lot. Praying for a new job Kevin loves to come his way since I am feeling well enough to be alone during the day.
  3. Even though I was not feeling 100%, I was grateful to speak for the MS Society in Pittsburgh and Dallas in November.

Kevin and I plan to move out to the San Francisco area after the holidays if my health and our finances are stable. I have missed the Bay Area since leaving in 2008. It is the place that feels like home to me. I am trusting that if we keep giving, the financial winds will shift and the universe will provide what is needed for the move. By the way, here is one of our wedding pics taken after we got hitched at Denver city hall.

Cami:

I am happy for you but sad for me that you are planning to move back to the Bay Area. I live in Denver and recently read your book and was hoping to meet you. Your book came at just the perfect time in my life and I wanted to share with you the impact it has had on me... I have told so many people (including a clerk at King Soopers) about the book and have encouraged them to read it. You are a blessing! Did you ever find a couch for your new place? If not, I would love to send you a picture of mine if you are interested in it... I would love to give it to you...

I hope that the universe blesses you beyond your wildest imagination and that your health continues to improve.

I appreciate you!

Glad to hear your MS relapse is ending.  Hoping mine will be soon as well.  Make sure you don't over do it.  You are in my prayers.

Cami,

I am so glad that you are feeling better -- that is definitely an answer to prayers.  You do so much for so many.  I will keep you and Kevin in my thoughts and prayers.
