29-Day Giving Challenge

I can’t believe this week is coming to a close already, I was super busy so didn’t have time to blog on a daily basis, as I would have liked but here are my gifts for the week.

Sunday 10th April

Gift 16 – phone call frenzy

Today was a day of speaking with relatives on the phone; I spoke with my husband’s Grandma Lois who lives in Arizona, and Sheila and Joyce my two Grandparents in England.  Joyce had been feeling down as she has had some back pain, so she was really happy to hear from me.

Monday 11th April

Gift 17 – coffee round

Everyone was having somewhat of an afternoon slump at work, so I decided to splurge on an afternoon pick me up for my work colleagues, I brought everyone their beverage of choice from Starbucks as my gift for the day.

Tuesday 12th April

Gift 18 – new dinner recipe

Today I made the effort to cook a new dinner recipe for my husband and myself, despite the fact it was a mid-week night and normally after work I just like to make something quick and easy.  I tried out a new vegetarian taco recipe and it turned out great.

Wednesday 13th April

Gift 19  - Free PT

My husband Shawn, sprained his ankle very badly last Christmas day, and it has still been bothering him, he doesn’t like to ask me to treat him, as he knows I am busy treating patient’s all day, and it is always so late by the time we have both commuted home from work and eaten dinner.  I insisted on treating his ankle for him this evening as my gift for the day.

Thursday 14th April

Gift 20 - acupuncture

Today was a gift for myself; I went for an acupuncture session for my knee pain, which is continuing to feel a little bit better each day.  I hate to spend money on myself, but I have realized that if you don’t take good care of yourself, you can’t take good care of other people.  Sometimes it is ok to be a bit selfish and put yourself first.

You have had a busy week with many wonderful gifts given.  Your gift to yourself was great.  Yes, we do all need to remember to take care of ourselves too!
