I am thrilled to say we now have 16,547 committed givers in our community and new stories are being shared every day about the power of giving. Thanks to all of you for staying open and sharing your experience.
During the remaining days of June and all of July, I need your assistance. 29 Gifts Volunteer, Elly Rose, needs our help to kick cancer. Elly Rose has been a key member of our management team and I feel like I have lost my right arm without her presence on the site every day. She was diagnosed with Stage IV cancer in May. While Elly Rose's medical needs are covered for the moment, this illness has been a financial strain. Elly Rose has been working on the 29Gifts.org site full-time since the beginning in 2008. She has spent countless volunteer hours serving as our Technical Support Manager and played other important roles. Now is Our Chance to Give Back to Elly Rose by contributing to a housing fund of $1,500, so her family does not need to stress about how the rent will be paid when Elly begins chemo. So far we have raised $520 toward our goal of $1,500. I can't help Elly Rose alone, so please click here to Chip In any amount you can spare. Every dollar helps. If you can't afford to chip in money, you can leave Elly a simple get well wish on this discussion. Encouragement and support are just as meaningful as a monetary gift.
Special THANK YOU to our community manager, Deb, and the rest of the Welcome Wagoneer Team, who have helped keep the site running smoothly while we are without Elly Rose's dedicated help. I have been struggling physically myself with a MS flare, and spent time in the hospital recently, so without the awesome people who do service on our site, there is no way we could stay online.
