Yesterday, I gave a few gifts. I brought in a coffee for my BFF, I brought Munchkins for the students in my advisory, and I bought another friend some caramel bulls eye candy she likes. (She's very fit, so I can bring her candy. Most people do NOT want junk food!) However, I'm not sure I accomplished my goal of doing anything new, however, I did show To Kill a Mockingbird to two classes. I've never show that movie before. (OK - that's a stretch!) Gregory Peck will forever be Atticus to me, but the movie is so pale in comparison to the book. (As usual...) I also started a new book, Cleopatra: A Life.
I gave myself a gift today and stayed home!! I was so worn out. I did some paperwork and joined the YMCA (something new...) So, hopefully, the kids and I will use the membership to get some exercise in the New Year. I also booked my son's birthday party (a gift) and bought both my son and daughter some new books. I am trying in this cycle to stretch outside of my close circle with gifts, but it is certainly more difficult. I buy my kids things every day. Sometimes I think they are the most spoiled children in the country...in the world!
I really need to stretch my giving and my "new experiences..."
