"Kind words can be short and easy to speak, but their echoes are truly endless."
~Mother Teresa~
Awakened somewhat exhausted on day 10. Showered, dressed, and went with my husband first to visit my 87 year old mother, then his 86 year old mother. These women, each predeceased by her husband is leaving this life a little more each day. It is so very difficult to watch. We know they are each aware of our visits, but neither is capable of the interaction we had become so accustomed to over the years. Sometimes kind words, gentle hugs, and smiles are the best gifts we can provide.
Today is day 11. After offering some encouraging words to a good friend on the telephone, I offered a few to my daughter. Folding the laundry provided me with the gift of time to think and meditate a little. Cooking dinner and making some brownies will be my gift to my family. It's the little things in this life that accumulate and make your love visible. :)
