Many of you are familiar with Kiva.org, a nonprofit that works to alleviate poverty worldwide through microfinance. You can browse through hundreds of different projects and regions, then donate to whichever you choose. Once the loan (minimum $25) has been repaid, you can re-lend the same money - over and over and over again.
Kiva has a new referral program. If I'm reading it correctly, new donors get a bonus $25 to lend. And... if you join by clicking on this link, then I get a bonus $25 to lend, too. And once you sign up, you can get a referral bonus to lend... and then those people can do the same. To be clear: the bonus is not a personal gain, but money to be donated to Kiva clients.
Together, we can donate more than the sum of our individual loans!

Caryl, I'm pretty sure it's international. I Googled, and there's a "Kiva Kiwis" lending group. Try this link (it won't work for the referral bonus, but it should at least allow you to register. Good luck!
