Life on Lifes Terms

I'm currently in my second round of the giving challange. So many wonderful things have happened over the past month in a half. Mainly it has been a shift in my attitude. Over the past week some rather tragic, unexpected events have taken place in my life. In the past I may have found my self feeling hopeless and emotionally cripple from the stress and perhaps feeling sorry for myself (especially around the holidays). But today I can count my blessing and know that life happens and it's not always good, but it's my reaction to these events that will make the difference. Just for today I'm choosing to ignore the negative thoughts and continue to focus on what I have to give. We are snowed in here in Philly, so I will go out and shovel my walk and my elderly neighbors. Maybe this physical activity will help me burn off some of the sadness, frustration, anger while helping out another, which will again show me how giving to others is a gift to yourself.
