My first day

I read the book yesterday and decided to start right away (typical!) so here goes. That evening a friend was coming over for champagne and "tea" to celebrate a publication. I shopped and cooked a wonderful dinner for her, and also bought a couple of music magazines for my husband while I was out. My friend was so excited about that simple dinner of roast chicken, vegetables and salad. She said, "this is the first hot, home-cooked meal I've had in weeks." She doesn't cook for herself. My husband said, "How did you know I liked British music magazines?" I didn't know. So I feel the miracle for me came in getting it right--giving people something that they really needed and appreciated. My friend also ran out to her car and said, "I need to give you guys this" and gifted us with two bags of cat food that she was going to return to the store because her cats have been put on special diets!
