My First Day

So, yesterday I was thinking that I might not do this because I try to give everyday, but I was in the elevator going to class when something happened and made me rethink the idea. There were three of us on the elevator and two floor buttons were pushed, two of us going to the first floor and one going to the second. When we got to the second floor, one girl got off who needed to, but the other girl who was going to the first floor started to get off. Normally, I would've minded my own business and not said anything, but for some reason, probably because I had this idea in the back of my mind, I said to her, "This is the second floor." She said thanks and got back on and we got to the first floor and went our separate ways. It was then that I remembered the 29 gifts challenge that my sorority sister had brought up the day before and decided that I would sign up for it. I figured, if I could make an effort each day to try and help others and brighten their days, then maybe the world can become a better place one step at a time.

Now, that is a great way to start off the challenge, connecting and helping a fellow human being.

Hi Lindsay,
Today is my first day of the 29 gifts challenge and I was a little reluctant at first, because like you a try to give everyday. But then I started thinking about the blogging aspect of it I came to the same conclusion that you did. Knowing that I will be writing about it keeps me conscious of opportunities to give, even more so than usual, and I think that's the whole point. I am very interested to see how this will play out over the next 28 days and what I will learn. :)
