It was rainy this morning - garbage day - and I learned that my upstairs neighbour has had a cold. So I placed her trash bins back behind the house. It was a simple gift, but a conscious one. I also bought a grocery gift card that I'll either give out or leave for someone to find.
More news has come in regarding my friend's partner, and none of it is good. However, I have witnessed medical miracles firsthand - as, I know, have many of you. In the mid-1980s, I had a roommate who, the previous year, had been given last rites. He had been diagnosed with AIDS in 1984, I think. Not only did he not die after last rites, but shortly after he moved in with me, he seroconverted to HIV-negative. At the time, he was one of six people in the US to have spontaneously rid his body of HIV. He was my roommate for two and a half years. After he moved out, he re-converted back to being HIV+ (I like to think I had the cat that cured AIDS), but he was otherwise healthy and lived another 22 years. He was the first to tell me about Louise Hay and about visualization; I thought of him today because one of the things he did (back when video games were Atari) was what he called the "Pac-man visualization" in which he did a full-body relaxation (self-hypnosis) and then visualized Pac-man going through the neural networks of his brain, eating the tumors (yes, in all this, he had brain tumors, too). I thought it was kind of odd, but also kind of cool - and clearly, for him, it worked (along with LOTS and LOTS of Western medicine, I should add, though it was all experimental in the 1980s.)
Anyway... that was my day today. Hope you all had a good Thursday. Cheers!

You have been a good friend all of your life! I do hope and pray for a miracle for your friend. And I'll bet your kindness was appreciated with the garbage cans. Take care of you..you are such a wonderful support system for so many.
