I've often described my work life as "I work when there's work". This morning, I was on the foot ferry to the small island to write when I received an email asking if I'd look over a bio that had to be submitted today. I didn't have my laptop on me, so I came home and did an hour of editing, then went back out. I have a call tonight to discuss some more work - yay!!
It was too late to go back over to the small island, but I plan to go tomorrow and get some more writing done. Yes, I'm finally writing! I'm not sure where it's going, but I've been printing out all the thoughts I've jotted down on my phone from the past few years, and I'm using those as prompts. The ferry to the small island only runs for another 3 weeks, so I'm getting in as much time there as possible. The First Nations here consider that island, in particular, a powerfully sacred spot, and...yeah. It's an amazing place for healing, restoration and creativity.
No spontaneous giving opportunities arose today, so I left a loonie (dollar) along a trail for someone to find.
In my previous incarnation, I was in the entertainment industry for about 15 years, including as a music journalist. I'm no longer ahead of the curve when it comes to music (and I may be distinctly behind it, because I don't have TV or a radio)... but a friend told me about a band a few days ago, and I haven't been able to stop listening to this song - or dancing - since. It's just pure joy - and what's cooler, that's the intent of the musicians behind it. So... enjoy!
Hope you all had great Sundays - cheers!
