This afternoon, as usual, I went to the coffee shop to pick up leftovers for the soup kitchen. The girl who was working is still in high school, and she said she had to write a short story, but she was having trouble coming up with a central character. I gave her some brainstorming ideas that I sometimes use (though I rarely write fiction). The particular suggestion I gave her was to open a thesaurus, choose five words randomly and then write a character around those words.
I clicked on the Animal Rescue site, just... well, because I remembered to :)
I still felt a little dazed today, though yesterday's conversation has "settled in" a bit. I feel good about it - glad that it happened, and optimistic about where it could lead.
Hope you all had a good Wednesday. Cheers!
