Today, I went for a walk with a woman whose husband recently had a quadruple bypass. I wasn't really in the mood to talk, but I wound up having a good time. I mentioned some Web sites to her, and this evening, I sent her the links. Kind of a gift, I guess - it was intended as such.
I placed a quarter on top of a garbage bin...
And I did some (free) background research on a potential project. Meaning, I gathered background for someone else; if they get the project, I may have work (the work I mentioned last night). That, too, was intended as a gift - the information itself has nothing to do with whether I work on the project or not.
This morning, I got some clarity on the personal situation that's been bothering me. I was glad to finally get some kind of information, though it wasn't exactly the response I was hoping for. So I guess that's in a holding pattern for now, but better to know than to be wondering.
The new work - which has yet to be confirmed - is ghostwriting more articles for the same company. The "more money" part is that the creative director realized I was spending waaaaaay more time on each one than I was being paid for. I don't know the details yet, but at this point, any income is good income. I still need another steady client or two, but I'm hoping that'll come soon.
I was able to pay all but the final $50 of my October rent today. I'm still a month and a half behind on bills, but the future is looking better.
Thank you for all your support - of course, I'll keep you posted.
Hope you all had great Thursdays. Cheers!
