Yesterday I spent another day home sick. I had my stepson all day too. My gift was to spend the whole going at his pace... He's a kid that can struggle with transitions and feeling like he's always going to slow. We woke when he was ready, breakfast when he was ready, walk to the library when he felt like getting dressed, lunch when he was done doing his brain training (my summer school program for him), veggie snack or reading breaks when he wanted for as long as he wanted (I set the kitchen timer for him), exercise when he wanted (we watched a dinosaur documentary while he bicycled), etc.... the whole day was like that... it was so beautifully relaxing and pleasant. I was sick and it ended up being a gift to both of us.
