Tuesday, Day 2 was kind of lame. I bought my own drink at the bar without expecting my boyfriend to pay for it. Not the best gift, but it's a positive, less-selfish attempt for me.
Day 3, on the other hand was awesome. I went out of my way to tip the Starbucks barista. I made a mental note to do it while in line, but then forgot about it until I got back to my car. I went back in and put a dollar in the their tip box. A dollar isn't much, but I usually pay with a credit card, and don't leave a tip.
Anyway, that must have been good karma, because when I got to my post-coffee destination, they were in the process of taking down the street cleaning signs, which meant a prime parking spot for moi! That put me in a pretty good mood for the rest of the day, and left me feeling more open to other people, even if I didn't have another specific "give" for the day. :)
Ooh, I almost forgot! I also started the ball rolling on two projects (one for each of the past two days) Tuesday I suggested to my group of friends that we go in together on a surprise for our friends 30th birthday--we came up with a great idea as a group! And on Wednesday I offered to take a catalog for my students' fundraiser to see if I could sell anything to my friends for them (in addition to purchasing something myself, of course)
