Yesterday was a good day. I worked for a couple of hours in the office, then had my second therapy session with my new counselor. It was a great talk session, and exactly what I needed. My psychologist thanked me for my willingness to share such meaningful things about my past that will help him see the "big picture," so to speak, to figure out what direction we need to head in my counseling.
I worked from home for almost 3 hours after my counseling session. My mother-in-law watched the kids yesterday, so I had about 2 hours after my session in the house alone. It was a little strange, but I was able to get a lot accomplished. We received a letter from Kaden in the mail yesterday, so my overprotective mama-bear heart was able to beat a little more calmly.
Dave had a really tough start to his work week, so he was able to leave a couple hours earlier than normal, meaning he left at 5:00 p.m. (like much of the workforce) rather than his usual 7:00 p.m. We won't pick Kaden up from camp until Saturday morning, so we took Addy and Logan out to eat at a Chinese buffet they've been bugging us about. Kaden is a picky eater and doesn't really like the restaurant (not my favorite either) so it was a good time to go.
Dave promised Logan he'd take him to some of the youth baseball city tournament final games since his team was out. Logan really wanted to see the final of the next division up (in which he'll play next year), and that game was last night. Addy decided to tag along, so they dropped me off after dinner. I had the house to myself for another 2 hours. Again, it was weird, but nice.
Update on my decluttering goals: I've done really well keeping up the dishes and my sink clear, but the table has been more difficult to keep clear this week. I am going to keep working on the table and encourage my kids to stop using the table as a depot for their papers and toys.
It seems like I received considerably more than I gave yesterday, but sometimes I suppose that's okay. Thank you for reading, be blessed, and keep giving!
