29-Day Giving Challenge

Both yesterday and today, I've done some work that one of my employees would normally do, to free him up a bit. He is actually being promoted and will be going to another department, and in the interim, he's essentially trying to balance two jobs. He certainly could, but I thought doing this work would make things easier for him. He has done a lot to make MY life and our whole department's job easier.

I also did some weeding over the past two days for the plants that are on the border between my neighbor's home and ours. We've never really been sure whose they are; our old neighbor used to care for them, but when she and her husband moved, I had halfheartedly started. As I was weeding, the new neighbor came out and said hello and thanks. He's a younger guy (I mean, my age, I guess, but way younger than the previous neighbor!) and I don't think he's much for gardening, but he was nice about how good it looked.

Good day for you! Isn't gardening great! I don't have a garden, only a balcony with a large flower 'container' (as wide as the house) and also a division between the neighbors' and our house made out of plant 'pots'. My neighbors don't tend to the plants at all and they don't appreciate my work either (at least they never mention it) but I always enjoy working with the plants and am very proud about how nice it looks.

Good luck to your co-worker on his new job!  Hooray for you on doing the weeding.  That is not one of my favorite things to do, but it does make things look nicer when it's done.
