Still feeling inspired by Wavy Gravy's life story, ("Saint Misbehaving") so I decided to give a donation to the wonderful charity he started called SEVA. They provide sight for the blind in India.
I was thinking about donations today... I never really did much in the way of donating until I joined this site. It's a natural progression of a heart open to giving. I am so grateful for the ways I am blossoming into a more generous and compassionate person. I love the feeling that I am playing a part in the grand altruistic endeavors of others, no matter how small a part it may be. Know what I mean?
It's just like the SEVA motto says: "Your compassion can change the world."
Just think of all the changes our compassion is causing! It's so exciting!

I like what you say about donations... Yes. I like that I am helping others help others... that my money is not just sitting in my wallet or my bank account for me alone... it is being sent out into the world on a Mission. And if it's not spent as wisely as I might have thought I wanted (what stopped me in the past from donating).. who cares? That is their responsibility. My responsibility is to not hoard it & to provide it to those who can use it. Because Lord knows I don't spend every penny of my own money perfectly; at least this way someone else gets helped too, in some way.
Good for you.
