Yesterday being my first day of this journey, I was going grocery shopping with my husband. I have to ride on the motorized wheel chair as my back gives out if I am on my feet too long in stores. I kept wondering what I could do to give on the first day..I really wasn't going to have much of an opportunity to give I thought. Anyway when we were finished shopping and my husband was in the check out line, I went to the exit and parked the chair. I was going to go outside and wait for my husband to finish. Just as I was walking out the door a lady with a cart in front of me; (her cart was packed extremely high) a bag of her groceries toppled off the cart right in front of my feet. I immediately stooped down and up-righted the sack. The lady said "that's okay it is heavy, and heavy it was. She scooped it up and put it back on her cart. Just for a moment I had tried to lift it and realized I wouldn't be able to do it, with my bad back. I was glad she was able to lift it. What I had did was an automatic thing I always want to help people and for a minute I forgot about my back.
The only other giving I did yesterday was to peel an apple and give it to my daughter for a snack. I wish I could have given in a much bigger way yesterday.
