The Most Wonderful Birthday Gift: My Sweetie Proposed!

I just have to share my wonderful news with all of my friends here on the site.  It is not something I gifted, but something I received.  Friday was my birthday, the best birthday I've ever had.  My sweetie took the day off at work and surprised me by coming here early (he wasn't supposed to be there until late at night).  He walked in with a huge cake he'd ordered for me that said "Happy Birthday to the Love of My Life!"  Then he brought in gifts from his parents and a birthday card from him.  He brought along this hangman board game ... playing board games, even kids games, once in a while isn't out of the ordinary for us so I didn't think anything of it.  We played hangman.  The puzzle he made for me to solve said "Marry Me."  As the letters got turned over one by one and I saw what it was going to say I was nearly speechless ... but I called each letter and then he took out a ring and got down on one knee and asked me if I would be his wife.  I said, "Of course, I will!"  It was such a great moment.  He had made certain to get a ring that was unique and just especially for me; it has blue saphires around the diamond because blue is my favorite color.  After enjoying the moment for a bit. we went to a restaurant to get something to eat and celebrate.

 

Yesterday my entire family came here for my birthday and our town's parade/summer festival so I was able to share the news with all of them at once.  They are happy for us.  It's just so wonderful!  I never imagined finding a relationship like this; it's better than I could ever have imagined.  He is the sweetest guy, and I love him so much.  We are thinking of having the wedding this coming June.
