29-Day Giving Challenge

Well, that break didn't last long. Giving opportunities abound, don't they? Not even counting yesterday's at-register donation for pet shelters, let's start with the little shaver who came up the front walk as I went out to water the flower pots. Ours was only the second house this Kindergartener visited, and he needed much coaching from his mom, but eventually he got out the message that his school was having a jog-a-thon to raise money, and could I donate? I said, "I'll see what's in my wallet," and he said, "I've got a pen already! You can write on the form with my pen!" and I said, "Yeah, but I need to get the money part." So I fished some cash from my wallet and sent little jog-a-thon kid on his way with a second cash donation.

:-)  Reminds me of my little neighbor girl---1st week of Kindergarten for her!--who came to my house to tell me "my teacher told me I had to sell cookies" last month & not only did she not have a pen, she didn't know how to write!  So I did not only "the money part" but "the writing part" too.  So funny.

How precious!  Thanks for helping make his day successful and for helping him understand that most people want to help.  In today's world our children get so many negative messages -- the positive ones will make a lasting impression.  I don't like that the schoos send these wee ones out to "beg" for money, but since they do, I always try to make it a positive experience for the kids.  You are truly a gift.
