Tonight is my night to do welcomes on the site. I have to say I really enjoy doing that. Serving in that role perhaps I should be sharing more positive things, but I just really needed to vent about this. People who don't have the spirit of giving bring me down; I wish that I didn't allow them to do that but I do.
I have been calling around trying to get certain people to be an event my organization is having. Now, I have had plenty of people say no. That is fine; just say no politely ... like "no, I'm really not interested" or "I just don't think that's something I can do," etc. But today this lady was soooo rude to me on the phone. She goes "you're asking someone you don't even know to come and do this for you, and you're not going to give them anything in return." Ahhh ... apparently, she doesn't know that some people actually do things for others without expecting anything back. If you don't want to, just say no. I actually cried after I got off the phone with her.
So for those of you who don't think the little things matter, just look at what a difference it made for me when people did something as simple as saying no politely; those people being polite gave me a gift.
Thank you for GIVING me the opportunity to get this off my chest.

I caught myself TWICE yesterday, when I went to pick up prescriptions for my mom and m-in-law at two different pharmacies. One was incorrect, the other wasn't done at all. Thankfully, I sensed from the body language of both young ladies that my initial tone and expression were taken as hostile. I actually thought of Lubabat and smiled at them! Tensions eased on both ends and I thanked them for their assistance.
I feel sad for the lady who was so rude to you - I hope that she reflects on that call and realizes her attitude is as destructive internally as it was externally. She's hurting herself more than anything.
Do you have her address? I'd love to send her Cami's book anonymously.
