29-Day Giving Challenge

Today I settled on the pattern I will use for the doll dress (after scouring the internet for freebies). It's styled after the dresses the flower girls wore at Prince William and Kate's wedding. I also found some fabric for it in my stash - it's shades of dark blue in kind of a bubble print. I'll add white lace to the edges and such. And I found a tutorial for making a kneesock into a pair of doll tights, they're really cute.

Also an unexpected give - my (13 year old) son decided at the last minute that he wanted a costume, LOL so I made his head/face mask (everything else was from his closet, or previous Halloweens). Considering how bad I feel today, it was really a gift. ;) This is him in his Slenderman costume, along with my granddaughter the Pink Fairy. ;) (Slenderman is an internet meme, there is info about it here: http://theslenderman.wikia.com/wiki/Slender_Man and here: http://knowyourmeme.com/memes/slender-man)

Ah!  My 12 yr. old son was Slenderman!  I don't sew, so you did much better than me!  He knows how to tie a t-shirt around his head where only the eyes show through the head opening (like a ninja), so he did that.  And then a white sweatshirt hood.  No one knew who he was, so I was happy to see another Slenderman!

The doll will be truly beautiful and precious.  The costume for your son and granddaughter are so clever! And what a precious gift to your son -- the gift of your time and love!  Hope you feel better.
