wednesday
today was "we appreciate you" day on our team at my day job. we (the other supervisor and i) try to have a couple of events a year to thank our hardworking team. this time we had pizza and salads for lunch and gift certificates to the local community college's cosmetology "clinic" for manicures. this is where all the budding hair stylists get to hone their skills with hair, nails, and feet. i don't think i'd let any of the baby stylists near my hair (or feet!) but manicures are relatively safe. and, we all have to start somewhere. :-)
sent three boxes of books to one of my favorite causes - the magoo room (www.themagooroom.org/). they sell them at local book sales and on-line to support their sanctuary for blind cats.
it's hot and humid. my favorite time of the year!
