Already slipping - miissed posting yesterday. First a little thing but very big to me - Over the last two days I've been very mindful of my thoughts when preparing meals. I often get very cross inside when there's not even the basic courtesy of a thank you. I know it's something that needs doing every day and thanks makes it so much pleasanter, the acknowledgment rather than just the expectation of food on the plate. Anyway, I've tried to be more gracious in my mind and yesterday evening received a heartfelt thank you after dinner - a gift to me! More sorting and more clothes and books to the charity shop. I added the suitcase I carried them in as well. I travel light so it popped into my head that there's no reason to keep all these big cases. I've got more to sort so the next lot can go in a case too. Spent a couple of hours helping a friend out in her shop. I call that therapy. It takes me back to playing shops as a child. Mustn't let her hsband know that it's a game! Shared concerns with a friend in a 'phone call. Shared joys with two others. Bought some thigs to gift. Plans for today have been to welcome 29 of the new people to the community - I've enjoyed doing that. I'm going to give away some of my gifts - and I'll look for as many random acts as possible. I'll always take an opportunity to talk to new people so I'll make extra efforts today. I've come across an idea that I might try out too. It's to empty all your cooking utensils out of a drawer and place them in a box. When you use an item, it can be replaced in the drawer. The suggestion is that after a week, anything that hasn't been used is probably not needed. It's cluttering your drawer and impeding the workflow of your home. Don't know about only a week but there's certainly something in the idea! Could try it in the dressing table too!
