Dog Befriends Cat for Christmas
My built in gift for the every day this week is I'm taking care of my neighbor's cat, Giles. Even though I have two cats of my own, Giles and I share a special bond. I often jokingly refer to Giles as my boyfriend cause I love him so much. Giles has been incredibly jealous since we got our new dog, Charlie, about a month ago. He hasn't been willing to give me the time of day and if Charlie steps one little paw onto the balcony we share with his mother, Giles takes a mean little swipe at Charlie. But a day-before-Christmas-Eve miracle happened. I left the two balcony doors open while I was feeding Giles and Charlie tentatively ventured into Giles' domain. Instead of trying to beat up the five-pound pup, Giles started to play with Charlie. They're best buds now. The only problem is befriending Giles made Charlie a little over confident and now he keeps playfully jumping on Habib and Abu, my two kitties who haven't fully accepted him yet. There's been a lot of hissing in my house the past 24 hours, despite the harmony that happened next door yesterday.
